Green ICT Special Interest Group (SIG) Meeting
Green ICT Sustainable Future for Australia 2020

The Australian Government is holding the Australia 2020 Summit at Parliament House on 17 April 2008. One thousand Australians have been invited to help with a long term strategy for the Australia's future.

How can ICT be used to help with an economically and environmentally sustainable future, in the face of falling stock markets and rising sea levels?

Tom Worthington, chair of the ACS's Green Technology Group and co-chair of the Open 2020 Local Summit will present an overview and lead the discussion for input by ACS into government policy.

Tom is a consulting ICT professional, an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the Australian National University and Director of the ACS Professional Development Board. In 1999 he was elected a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society for his contribution to the development of public Internet policy.
