This event is designed to help you consider strategies outside of the box to build your profile and career in tech. We’ll explore the free tools you can utilise and activities you can get involved in to build your career profile and boost your resume when applying for your first/next tech job role.  <br><br>This event focusses on four central aspects:  <br><br><strong>1. The importance of LinkedIn and how to use it effectively </strong><br>We will deep-dive into the smaller details and how to best utilise your LinkedIn profile. Tips, examples and takeaways will be included to help you reflect your best self through your LinkedIn profile. <br><br><strong>2. What does a recruiter consider when looking at a resume?  </strong><br>Receive valuable advice and insights from a tech recruiter on the key features that will help you stand out from the rest when it comes to submitting your resume and cover letter. <br><br><strong>3. The benefits of participating in extra-curriculum activities to help build your career profile </strong><br>An ACS Emerging Professional member will share unique insights and ideas on different groups and volunteer positions that has helped them succeed in your career and provide advice on how to get involved.  <br><br><strong>4. How to build your personal career network in tech</strong><br>Networking can be daunting and scary the first few times. Hear from a local tech professional on how they built up the courage and built up their network, and the benefits on how your network can help your approach job hunting.   <br><br>

I am proud to be recognized as a Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award for my exceptional contributions to the tech community. I'm passionate about helping the next generation of IT professionals. That's why I'm an active member of the ACS Emerging Professional Committee, where we mentor and support young talents entering the field. I am also a tech mentor for the Queensland government helping small businesses to leverage technology for their enterprises as part of Queensland’s government Mentoring for Growth initiative.  

But it doesn't stop there! I get to travel and share my knowledge as an International Speaker. Talking about automation, healthcare tech, and digital transformation with audiences around the world. Some of my articles have been published in Acceleration Economy, United States, giving me the opportunity to showcase my thoughts and insights on various topics. Registration

  • Payment in full is required the time of booking in order for the registration to be valid.
  • To avoid disappointment, ensure you pay for your booking(s) before the registration closing date. Anyone that has not received a confirmation email will not be on the event attendance list and therefore will not be admitted to the event.
  • Online registration ends at the time stated on the event registration page.

Cancellation and Refund

All cancellations must be processed through the website, a refund will only be considered if it is at least 3 working days prior to the event.

  • ACS reserves the right to change the program at any time. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard and members are updated with changes.
  • All dietary requirements are considered, however we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen free environment.
  • ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff, its agents and/or others working under its authority.
  • Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.

COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance

By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
