About this event
The rapid development and globalization of technology has resulted in an industry generalization, that it is one needs to be young to be successful. Whereas, in actuality, the reverse is the fact the case. Studies have highlighted that age discrimination remains a significant barriers that adversely impacts innovation , workforce dynamics and profitability.
Our goal is to explore how ageism manifests in this sector, its impacts on both individuals and organizations, and to uncover actionable strategies to foster a more inclusive and innovative working environment.
Our distinguished panel of experts will share their insights, experiences and recommendations, that we hope will inspire further meaningful discussion and drive a positive change towards building a more equitable and effective tech industry.
Speakers
Richard is an entrepreneur with a social conscience. A proven and transformational CIO/CTO, a successful Business Leader, Strategist, published author and Key Note Speaker.
Richard is a seasoned industry veteran with over 30 years of IT industry experience and 25 years working with global MNC across the AsiaPacific region. Having successfully held senior Technical, Business, Sales leadership positions, in both the IT Vendor and Client space, Richard brings a pragmatic and balanced understanding of IT to business. Most recently as an entrepreneur, technology influencer and industry mentor, Richard has co-founded PrimeL Technology, a “profit with a purpose” Social Enterprise, which is transforming the way we will work and is building an eco-system that supports the development and integration of a diverse workforce and building an integrated community for both employer and employee
Brian’s book, Leadership Is Changing the Game: The Transition from Technical Expert to Leader, brings together his experience as a senior executive and his work as an executive coach.
His next book, co-authored with Dean Phelan, The Gentle Art of Leadership, is soon to be published. The book includes original research and interviews with leaders from around the globe to support the view that leaders who treat people with dignity and respect get the best results.

Bill is a seasoned entrepreneur with a strong track record of successful exits and a passion for innovation. He has founded and led multiple businesses, delivering exceptional value across industries and forging global partnerships.
Currently leading Asta, where he's been for over 20 years, Bill focuses on cutting-edge technology solutions. His latest venture, DayByDay.io, aims to revolutionise asset management with the world’s first insured blockchain platform.
Bill’s diverse experience spans roles such as software engineer, director, and strategist, giving him a unique perspective on solving complex challenges. He is also committed to community work and mentoring future entrepreneurs, striving to make a tangible difference.
Dr Fernando believes in giving back and founded STEM Sisters to empower STEM women of Colour, delivering seven award-winning structured programs, events, workshops and advocacy campaigns. She was recognised for her efforts and awarded a 2020 STEM Women Changemaker by the Australian Academy of Science, 2022 Techdiversity Business awards and a finalist for the Pro Bono Australia 2021Impact25 awards.
Dr Fernando is also the co-founder of iSTEM Co., a research, consulting and talent sourcing company whose core objective is to enable employment of women of colour and women from CALD backgrounds in Australias STEM organisations.

Registration
- Payment in full is required the time of booking in order for the registration to be valid.
- To avoid disappointment, ensure you pay for your booking(s) before the registration closing date. Anyone that has not received a confirmation email will not be on the event attendance list and therefore will not be admitted to the event.
- Online registration ends at the time stated on the event registration page.
Cancellation and Refund
All cancellations must be processed through the website, a refund will only be considered if it is at least 3 working days prior to the event.

- ACS reserves the right to change the program at any time. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard and members are updated with changes.
- All dietary requirements are considered, however we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen free environment.
- ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff, its agents and/or others working under its authority.
- Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.
- Photography and/or filming may take place during this event, by accepting these terms you consent to this. Please let a member of ACS know if you do not want your picture taken.
COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance
By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions
- If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
- If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
- We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
- ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
- All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
