Building a sector for all identities

“Technology is built on progress, so ensuring that we embrace the LGBTQIA+ community is not just the right thing to do, it represents what our sector stands for.”

Many people across the world face discrimination simply because of who they love or how they identify. While the tech sector is leading the way with LGBTQIA+ representation in comparison to other industries, more needs to be done.

Inclusive teams, where individuals feel safe to express their authentic selves, are proven to be more creative and innovation. By embracing LGBTQIA+ employees, companies tap into a broader pool of ideas, leading to more ground-breaking advancements.

By actively recruiting and supporting LGBTQIA+ talent, companies can access a wider range of skilled individuals, reduce the 85,000 skilled talent shortfall and ensure that we create a safe, accepting workforce where all members can thrive.

How ACS is helping build LGBTQIA+ representation

ACS is working alongside Pride in Diversity – Australia’s first and only national not-for-profit employer support program for all aspects of LGBTQIA+ workplace inclusion. A social inclusion initiative of ACON, Pride in Diversity is a team of specialists dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ people by reducing exclusion, invisibility, homophobia and stigma in the workplace. Through their employer support and training programs, Pride in Diversity is preventing workplace discrimination at the source and creating workplaces where everyone can feel safe and celebrated.
