NSW Second Edition Launch of Australia’s Digital Pulse

The NSW Launch of Australia's Digital Pulse was held at Deloitte Offices in Sydney on May 10, 2016 and attended by the NSW Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation, The Hon Victor Dominello.

The report outlines the challenges we face in securing the future strength of Australia's digital economy, and identifies how improving the skill mix and workforce diversity will lead to a stronger economy. The Minister was joined by Anthony Wong, ACS President, Richard Baecher, ACS NSW Branch Executive Committee Chair, Kathryn Matthews, Partner at Deloitte Access Economics, Sara Ma, Manager at Deloitte Access Economics and Nick O’Donnell, Director of Public Policy at LinkedIn, to present and discuss this report.

Digital Pulse is a flagship report commissioned by the ACS and prepared by Deloitte Access Economics.  It is the second edition of Australia's Digital Pulse and for the first time includes exclusive data from LinkedIn. The evening focused on current digital skills, employment and the IT education outlook in Australia, while the Minister's speech highlighted that the government is developing an innovation strategy in NSW, addressing the need to take up more opportunities to meet the huge growth and demand, particularly for ICT workforce, in the future.
