Enhancing security. Protecting identity.

At ACS, we take the protection of your data very seriously. From 5am Friday 3 November 2023, we are implementing new login security procedures, which will require you to set up Single Sign-On (SSO).

To discover how to set up SSO follow the step-by-step guide below.

Introducing Single Sign-On.

We are enhancing our security systems by implementing a Single Sign-On (SSO), which allows you to access the ACS website with one set of credentials (username and password). SSO streamlines the login experience and the number of passwords you have to manage, effectively reducing the risk of cyberattacks.

The steps below will guide you through the process of setting up SSO. If you have any questions, please contact ACS member services using the details at the bottom of this page.

1. Sign in with your current email address.

2. Enter your email address and click: ‘Send verification code’.

3. You will receive an email containing a verification code, like the one shown.

4. Enter the verification code and click: ‘Verify code’.

5. You will see the words: ‘Email address verified. You can now continue.’ Click either: ‘Change email’ or ‘Continue’.

6. Enter a new password, confirm your new password by entering it again and click: ‘Continue’.

7. You have successfully set up Single Sign-On. You are logged in to the ACS website.

FAQs

At ACS, we take the protection of data very seriously. With cybersecurity threats growing in number and sophistication, we must implement strong security measures and enhance login security.

To safeguard your identity and simplify your sign-in experience, ACS is implementing Single Sign-On (SSO). This will provide an increased measure of security, safety and compliance for all our audiences.

The risks from phishing attacks and account takeovers are on the rise and pose a real risk to your privacy and the security of our business. On their own, usernames and passwords do not provide sufficient protection against these types of threats.

SSO is simple to implement and extremely effective for blocking attacks that target passwords. SSO limits the threat of would-be attackers from accessing our systems and data because they use a form of authentication before granting access, meaning that hackers must work harder to have a chance at breaching security.

Single Sign-On (SSO) is an authentication and authorisation method that allows you to log in to different applications using a single set of credentials (username and password). This can help improve security by reducing the number of passwords that you must remember.

SSO also allows us to control access through authorisation controls within the SSO process, so you are only provided access to systems that you are permitted to access.

SSO saves you time and effort as you won’t have to sign in and out of a variety of applications. SSO makes overall password management easier by enhancing productivity and security and reducing the risk of lost, weak or forgotten passwords.

To set up SSO, follow the step-by-step instructions here.

New security procedures will be in place from 5am Friday 3 November 2023. From this date, you are required to set up SSO to access the ACS website.

At ACS, we work to continuously improve security and protect your privacy and our business. As part of our ongoing security effort, we will be introducing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in 2024. MFA is a standard practice that is widely used and helps to protect personal and institutional information from theft, cyberattack and ransomware. We will contact you separately to inform you of the implementation of MFA.

We are here to help you.
