ACS Victoria Big Data POD (Hack): Big Data for the Global Good
Join us at this upcoming Big Data POD Hack, where event participants will hear from an expert who will talk on how Big Data can be used for the Global Good, and will thereafter be provided with scenarios related to the topic to workshop in groups.
About this event
Global and National based organisations such as ‘Digital Impact’ and ‘The Minerva Collective’ have demonstrated this through projects using Big Data to assist with racial profiling in criminal justice, supporting individuals with disabilities, creating trust in digital societies, reach in rural areas, societal well-being and supporting youth mental health.
Our presenter and Hack facilitator Laura Rusu will first provide attendees with an overview on the uses of Big Data for global good, and how businesses can be utilizing Big Data to positively impact public policy, urban planning, healthcare administration, financial management & monitoring, and more. Thereafter event attendees will be given the opportunity to workshop questions/scenarios in groups and find solutions within their respective groups, discussing tangible outcomes and approaches, to then present their views to the rest of the event attendees.
This event is proudly sponsored by Victorian State Government.
