R is a programming language and free software environment for statistical computing and graphics. It is supported by the R Core Team and the R Foundation for Statistical Computing. It is widely used among statisticians and data miners for developing statistical software and data analysis.

Apurva Khemani hails from a small town in the northwest part of India called Ajmer. She completed a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Technology for well-known universities of India and worked as a college faculty and a mathematics tutor for three years. When she got married in Feb 2017, she wanted to study more and give my career a new direction. Her search for pursuing a higher degree ended when she found the perfect course, amalgamating two of her interests, computer science and mathematics at Queensland University of Technology.
It was called Master of Information Technology with a major in Data Science. Within a period of six months, Apurva landed in Australia in Feb 2018 with a zeal to learn and big dreams in her heart. Since graduating in December 2019, she has worked at prestigious organisations like QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, Queensland Health and now QUT. Also, her work has been recognised in a publication for Nature Medicine. Apurva’s career has been grounded in Data Science, concentrating on machine learning and data analytics in the clinical, biological and agricultural domains. This has allowed her to gain valuable experience in varied types of data related to gut health, microbiome, weather, vegetation parameters, supply chain and exports. With God's grace, on 7th October 2021, she became a Permanent Resident of Australia. Apurva has learned one thing in this journey, if you have a grateful heart then your dreams do come true!

Zachary Isaac
Chair, ACS QLD Emerging Professionals Committee
Zachary is an emerging professional in the Data Science field, with domain knowledge in Health Science. He enjoys the problem-solving nature of his studies and is excited about his future career prospects given the modern advancements in technology and the ubiquitous supply of data, which collectively provide a capability to solve problems that until recently weren’t possible. These problems cannot be solved without people though, this reasoning leads to him being a part of the ACS QLD Emerging Professionals Committee, which is a medium to bring people together and empower one another to achieve their career goals.

Registration
- Payment in full is required the time of booking in order for the registration to be valid.
- To avoid disappointment, ensure you pay for your booking(s) before the registration closing date. Anyone that has not received a confirmation email will not be on the event attendance list and therefore will not be admitted to the event.
- Online registration ends at the time stated on the event registration page.
Cancellation and Refund
All cancellations must be processed through the website, a refund will only be considered if it is at least 3 working days prior to the event.
Disclaimer
- ACS reserves the right to change the program at any time. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard and members are updated with changes.
- All dietary requirements are considered, however we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen free environment.
- ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff, its agents and/or others working under its authority.
- Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.
- Photography and/or filming may take place during this event, by accepting these terms you consent to this. Please let a member of ACS know if you do not want your picture taken.
COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance
By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions
- If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
- If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
- We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
- ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
- All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
