About this event

CSIRO is Australia's national science agency. Its purpose is to solve the greatest challenges through innovative science and technology. Data61 is CSIRO's digital and data sciences business unit. With over 800 staff and affiliate staff, it is one of the largest collections of digital R&D expertise in the world.
Professor Jon Whittle joined CSIRO as Director of Data61 in July 2020.

In this talk, Professor Whittle will give an overview of Data61's current activities which include its role as a national ecosystem enabler (e.g. the new National AI Centre), as a partner to government and industry on innovative R&D and trusted advice, and as a global leader in applied research on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software engineering, responsible tech, and cyber-physical systems.
