The conference theme of “AI and the Future of Work” responds to the growing presence of autonomous technology. Autonomous vehicles are one obvious implementation of “artificial intelligence” but other more-subtle examples are emerging.
Google’s translate is now using artificial intelligence to provide significantly improved translations. Smartphones have “intelligent assistants” (e.g. Apple’s Siri, or Microsoft’s Cortana) and recent in-home products use similar technology (e.g. Amazon’s Alexa). Recent announcements from Japan describe hotels staffed (almost) entirely by robots driven by artificial intelligence. Other services are on offer too; e.g. x.ai for personal appointment scheduling.
The conference will focus on how these modern technologies might move into the work environment supplementing and supporting the work of ICT professionals, and perhaps eventually replacing them.
Streams and topic areas are: Technology; Security; Data management; Leadership; the Future of Work; Analysis and Design; Education; Ethics and professionalism.

Speakers
The story begins in the Indian Ocean - 1980. An 8 metre fishing boat with 47 Vietnamese Refugees cramped in like sardines. A 2 year old boy is sick from de-hydration, his desperate mother can do nothing to help him – water ran out days ago, and so far one person has died.
Fast forward to Australia - 2008. The little boy is 30 years old and has been voted Comedian of the Year. He is recognized by kids and adults alike who call out jokes they’ve heard on Rove Live, Thank God You’re Here and Dancing With the Stars. He’s entertained, motivated and inspired thousands and thousands at corporate events in Australia and throughout the world.
The ups and downs, trials and tribulations, difficulties and successes of a refugee during those 2 decades makes for an incredible and amazing inspirational tale that has the audience gripped with emotion one minute and then howling with laughter the next. The result is always a room that has been transformed.
From language difficulties to divorcing parents, from being broke to being bullied, from becoming a lawyer to becoming Comedian of the Year… Anh uses all his life’s experiences to lift an audience to great heights of inspired motivation.
“Simply Amazing!!!...he received a standing ovation at the end of his performance”
Lisa Dawson - Toshiba Australia
We thought we were "just" getting a really funny comedian - and we certainly did - but so much more…we have had many speakers over the years and Anh was the "best ever!".
Glenys Broadhead – The Conference Team
“Anh is the consummate professional and took a lot of time to learn about our business and the people involved - he has a strong inspirational message and is just a great performer - I'd recommend Anh unreservedly.” Simon Lyon - Fuji Xerox
“Inspiring, positive, uplifting… Brilliant”, Ian Hyman - Hymans Asset Management
