About this event
Consideration of current and emergent cyber security risks must commence as early as possible in the ICT product development lifecycle. Failure to understand the different types of ICT security issues risks by designers and developers often leads to security flaws that are either very costly to remediate or expose the owner to additional risk for the life of the product.
Government and industry must collaborate to manage ICT security throughout the entire life cycle by searching for and addressing design weaknesses, implementation errors, and manufacturing problems, combining ICT products (software or hardware) and supply chain analysis.
This panel session will provide participants with an understanding of how evaluations of ICT products are undertaken under AISEP and similar programs, develop new techniques and capabilities that test, assess, and evaluate ICT systems, devices, and products throughout their lifecycle to a high level of assurance to protect information, and the underlying missions they support, at all levels of classification and sensitivities.

Dr Hin Chan
Dr Hin Chan is an Assistant Director from the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) and is the manager of the Australian Information Security evaluation Program (AISEP) that resides within the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC).
The Program performs Common Criteria (CC) evaluation and certification of ICT security products for Australian organisations use as well as set standards to improve the security in ICT products. Within this role, he is the Australian government adviser on all matters related to product assurance and evaluation efforts as well as the strategic directions of Australia’s international Common Criteria program.
Hin is an Australian representative at various international CC committees, at Standards Australia’s committee and at ISO’s JTC1/SC27 working groups developing various cyber security standards. He is also a member of the Accreditation Advisory Committee (AAC) of the National Association of testing and Accreditation (NATA) shaping matters related to testing labs accreditations.
Hin has completed qualifications in Information Technology, Electronics and Computer Systems Engineering and has more than 25 years’ work experience in IT and IT security, taken on various professional and managerial roles in network engineering, IT security, software and hardware design and project management.

Registration
- Payment in full is required the time of booking in order for the registration to be valid.
- To avoid disappointment, ensure you pay for your booking(s) before the registration closing date. Anyone that has not received a confirmation email will not be on the event attendance list and therefore will not be admitted to the event.
- Online registration ends at the time stated on the event registration page.
Cancellation and Refund
All cancellations must be processed through the website, a refund will only be considered if it is at least 3 working days prior to the event.

- If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
- If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
- We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
- ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
- All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
