<span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-family: calibri;">Most businesses witness rapid change in their industries. They need to embrace radical transformation, push for innovation and encourage a culture of disruption, just to stay in the game. So far, there are no signs of slowing down. While we all feel the impact of this in our daily working lives, the ones who will truly experience this change are the future workers, consumers and contributors to the digital economy: The kids of today.</span></span><br> <br><span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-family: calibri;">The proverbial &quot;kids these days&quot; are growing up in a world with unparalleled access and reliance on technology. Their consumption, comprehension and technical dexterity is awe-inspiring, yet there is a very real and growing concern over the STEM skills shortage.  </span></span><br>  <p><font face="Calibri" size="3">As an employer of Australian talent, a leader in the IT industry, and even as parents, family and guardians of future workers, Kinetic IT recognised the reality of this very problem.  So in 2015, we placed it high on our agenda.  What followed was an experiment, a Career Wheel and an opportunity to try something fresh when inspiring young minds consider their future as technical leaders and digital citizens. </font></p> <p><font face="Calibri" size="3"> </font></p>

Jessica Baldwin

Jessica Baldwin is a Workforce Analyst in the Strategic Workforce Planning team at Kinetic IT. Working with a small, highly skilled team, Jess is responsible for the delivery of projects from Talent Product Development, Talent Analytics and Workforce Capability.  With a background in recruitment, Jess has always had a knack for helping people find new beginnings and meaningful careers. At Kinetic IT, this has transformed into a passion for STEM education and Jess sought to support STEM programs wherever possible. Part of her role includes the management of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, which over the years has given her the opportunity to engage with advocates, volunteer organisations and industry groups who work tirelessly to create opportunities for kids to engage with STEM careers at an early age.  Jess has completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Human Resources and Tourism Management and was recently awarded a Women’s MBA Scholarship to pursue further study at Curtin University.

  • ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff, its agents and/or others working under its authority.
  • Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.
  • Photography and/or filming may take place during this event, by accepting these terms you consent to this. Please let a member of ACS know if you do not want your picture taken.

COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance

By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure

Personal information collection notice

By registering for this event, you are providing personal information to the Australian Computer Society. In accordance with the ACS Privacy Policy, ACS collects personal information through registrations and attendances at its events for the purposes of:
