Join us for an engaging and practical workshop designed to equip emerging professionals with essential networking skills. This session will cover the fundamentals of networking, building and maintaining connections, personal branding, and overcoming common challenges. Participants will also engage in a speed networking session to practice their new skills in a supportive environment.

This presentation and interactive workshop session will provide participants with comprehensive insights and tools for effective networking, tailored to emerging professionals aiming to expand their reach and influence in the industry. Participants will explore how networking can open doors to new opportunities, provide industry insights, foster collaborations, and enhance personal and professional visibility.
This is a highly practical session that will require participants to bring writing tools and be prepared to workshop ideas and practice with peers in a no-pressure setting.

Networking Fundamentals and Purpose
- Why network?: Understand the fundamental reasons why networking is crucial in professional development and career growth.
- Etiquette – the do’s and don’t: the essential etiquette of networking, that contribute to making a positive impression.
- Elevator Pitch: First impressions count. Learn how to craft and deliver a concise and impactful elevator pitch
- Identifying and approaching key contacts: How to initiate conversations, establish rapport, and navigate initial interactions with potential mentors, collaborators, or employers.
- Building meaningful and lasting connections: Explore techniques for developing meaningful relationships beyond superficial interactions. This includes methods to foster trust, add value to professional connections, and maintain relationships over time through genuine communication and mutual support.
- Effective communication of personal brand: Participants will learn how to effectively communicate their skills, experiences, and unique value propositions to leave a lasting impression on others .
- Be remembered: Strategies to enhance visibility and credibility through consistent and thoughtful communication both offline and online.
- Identifying and overcoming networking challenges: Address common obstacles faced such as anxiety, fear of rejection, or lack of confidence. Practical strategies will be provided to help navigate these challenges and build confidence.
- Speed Networking Session: This is where it all comes together. A speed networking session provides a fun and safe opportunity to practice all the techniques with multiple people, receive feedback, and refine the approach.

Registration
- Payment in full is required the time of booking in order for the registration to be valid.
- To avoid disappointment, ensure you pay for your booking(s) before the registration closing date. Anyone that has not received a confirmation email will not be on the event attendance list and therefore will not be admitted to the event.
- Online registration ends at the time stated on the event registration page.
Cancellation and Refund
All cancellations must be processed through the website, a refund will only be considered if it is at least 3 working days prior to the event.

- ACS reserves the right to change the program at any time. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard and members are updated with changes.
- All dietary requirements are considered, however we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen free environment.
- ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff, its agents and/or others working under its authority.
- Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.
- Photography and/or filming may take place during this event, by accepting these terms you consent to this. Please let a member of ACS know if you do not want your picture taken.
COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance
By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions
- If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
- If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
- We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
- ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
- All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
