New cybersecurity partnership looks to address Australian SMB Cyber weaknesses

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) and Cyberknowledge launch small business cybersecurity platform

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - 20 March 2025

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has formed a strategic partnership with Cyberknowledge to provide AI-assisted cyber risk management tools for Australian small and medium businesses.

• The partnership offers a comprehensive cyber resilience framework for SMBs including intelligent risk assessment, automated policy generation, and third-party risk management, making enterprise-grade security accessible to Australia.

• Set to launch in April 2025 with an initial focus on the Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, and Professional Services sectors, the initiative aims to reach over 1,000 SMBs in its first year

Providing continuous data-driven insights into organisations’ cybersecurity posture, the Cyberknowledge platform empowers business owners, risk managers, and security leaders to answer difficult questions and make informed cyber risk decisions.

The partnership will see ACS promoting Cyberknowledge’s platform to its national membership. This marks a significant shift in how Australian small and medium businesses (SMBs) approach cybersecurity and enhance their cyber resilience.

Josh Griggs, CEO of the Australian Computer Society said, "Raising the level of security holistically across Australia will have enormous positive impact for every Australian. Cybersecurity, especially for SMBs, is often put into the ‘too hard’ bucket - it’s difficult to find talent, costly and time consuming. However, with the advent of AI-driven platforms like Cyberknowledge, there is now an opportunity to address all three of these challenges at once.

“The important thing to do now is to make it very easy to access these solutions in order to drive adoption. By partnering with Cyberknowledge, ACS is providing our network the opportunity to access a platform that can transform how SMBs approach cyber risk management.

“In combining ACS's industry expertise with Cyberknowledge’s innovative AI-assisted platform, we're making sophisticated cyber risk management accessible and practical for businesses of all sizes."

The partnership provides access to several key innovations:

●      Dynamic Policy Generation: Automated development of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards.

●      Third-Party Risk Intelligence: Thorough vendor risk assessment and management capabilities

●      Measurement and Metrics: Real-time insights into enhancements in cyber resilience

●      Strategic Roadmap: A guided approach to developing and sustaining cyber resilience.

Chris Hagios, Managing Director of Cyberknowledge, emphasised the transformative potential of AI in cybersecurity. "In today's digital landscape, businesses of all sizes are managing unprecedented volumes of sensitive data. By merging our cybersecurity expertise with cutting-edge AI agents, we are making enterprise-grade Cyber risk management capabilities accessible to every SMB,” Mr. Hagios stated.

“Our AI-powered Cyber agents provide assistance and guidance, ensuring that robust cybersecurity is no longer a privilege reserved for large corporations with substantial resources."
